As I was doing my devotions recently, I found the most awesome scripture to support you in your progress. As I coach and train others who coach, I often hear that a person did not start on a project or did not take a particular action because they did not feel ready. I know of many times personally when in the past, I did not take an action and then blamed it on not feeling ready.
The larger our dreams and visions, the less likely we would ever be to step out if we wait to feel ready.
I learned from my reading in Ephesians, Chapter 3 that even though we may not know how to do something, we do know God, the one who knows everything! We know that God has limitless resources. Ephesians 3:20 tells us that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly over and above anything we could dare to hope, ask or think. If God wants you to do something, He will give you the inner and outer means to do it.
You may have read that God uses foolish things to confound the wise. It is also said that God does not call the equipped; rather He equips the called. I am reminding you of all this to say that it is very natural for us to want to wait until we feel that we are really ready, but God usually does not call those who are prepared in every aspect. If He did, He wouldn't get the glory. Most of the time God calls those who might feel completely overwhelmed by the task.
The only thing that keeps the overwhelm from setting in and bringing the project to a halt before it even takes off, is that these people are confident that God knows what He is doing. They are ready to move forward as they are led by the Holy Spirit.
Interestingly, when we wait to feel ready before we move forward, we are actually leaning on our own resources, instead of God. I now have a plaque over my desk that says, "Duty is mine, the results are God's." When we get into the results area, we are trying to do God's job so no wonder we lose our peace.
Rev. Evan Bush, MCLC, a trainer at PCCCA likes to put it this way, "In order for God to direct your path, you need to step out. The waters of the Red Sea did not part until someone stepped out. Even if you step out in the wrong direction, God can guide and re-direct you from there. But He can't and won't guide a stationary object.
Your first step is a step of faith. Jesus told us that according to our faith it would be done unto us. In other words, God will do for us as much as we are willing to believe for.
So if you have been waiting for a sign from God to move forward to your destiny, this is that sign. Only the enemy works to delay, defeat and discourage you. The time is now and the choice is yours. Don't wait until you are completely ready. Make sure God gets the glory!
